He went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Medicine receiving AOA ( Alpha Omega Alpha Honarary) distinction and continued his education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he completed his Transitional Internship and a Residency in Dermatology. Dr. Sowell is licensed to practice Medicine by the State of Alabama, is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Sowell also holds a clinical appointment as Assistant Professor with the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine.
