Dr. Griego is a 3rd generation Arizonan who grew up in Scottsdale and graduated from Shadow Mountain High School. He studied Biomedical Engineering at Arizona State University. He then attended medical school at the University of Arizona, graduating in the top 5% of his class. He completed a one-year internship in Internal Medicine and a one-year fellowship in Dermatolgic Research at the University of Arizona before performing 3 years of Dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He concluded his training with an intensive one year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery with one of the nation’s premier cutaneous oncologists, John Zitelli, M.D. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Griego is Board certified in Dermatology. In addition to his expertise in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, he has expertise in the areas of facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal. Dr. Griego has been in private practice in Mesa, Arizona since 1996. Dr. Griego provides the highest level of care in his state of the art, AAAHC accredited, ADHS state licensed Ambulatory Surgical Facility.Dr. Griego is married to Carole Bresnahan Griego, M.D., who is a Pediatrician. They have three wonderful children, David, Jennifer & Timothy. In their free time they are likely to be found enjoying their extended family or in Northern Arizona, as Dr. Griego is an avid outdoorsman.
