Flagstaff, Arizona My professional life began in Albuquerque, New Mexico where after I completed my dermatology residency at the University of New Mexico, I was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology. I then moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, with my husband and young daughter. I have been in Flagstaff practicing general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology for the last 11 years.
I joined an established practice and the practice has grown from its original size of 2 physicians and 6 staff to 6 physicians and a staff of 26. My partners and myself perform MOHS surgical removal of skin cancers when appropriate. Our “state of the art” facility houses a laboratory and we employ our own technicians thereby insuring the highest quality service in regards to biopsy interpretation, which we do ourselves.
Since Arizona boasts the 2nd highest incidence in the world for skin cancer, we all have extensive experience in skin cancer treatment including surgical excisions and complex plastic surgical repairs. We are members of the American Society of MOHS, a peer review group which helps insure a high standard of care in regards to the MOHS technique.
Besides cancer surgery and general dermatology, my interest and expertise lies in the field of cosmetic dermatology. I am certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. I have extensive experience with the techniques of upper eyelid blepharoplasty, tumescent liposuction, laser resurfacing, chemical peels and sclerotherapy. Our practice owns the “gold standard” of carbon dioxide lasers, the Ultrpulse 5000 made by the Coherent Company.
My training in cosmetic procedures occurred alongside the dermatologists who are considered the pioneers of laser and tumescent liposuction techniques. My strengths lie in my light touch, artistic sense, and years of experience.
