San Ramon, California William Ting, M.D. looks forward to be an advocate for the health of your skin. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. His practice philosophy incorporates the best and latest dermatology practice with emphasis in preventive dermatology care such as modalities to help reverse prior sun damage and minimize future risks of skin cancer. Yet he makes sure that each recommendation is tailored to each patient’s unique set of skin complexion, social and cultural backgrounds, and other priorities. He has expertise in medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and surgical dermatology including Mohs surgery for skin cancers and Tumescent Liposuction for body sculpturing. He has drawn patients all over San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area for dermatology consultation, mole check, skin cancer screening, acne, phototherapy for psoriasis, eczema and vilitigo as well as Botox injection, and fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse as well as fractional CO2 resurfacing laser.
Dr. Ting is a graduate of Northwestern University of Medical School where he was one of the two combined M.D./M.B.A. candidates in his class. He had an unforgettable year spent at Kellogg School of Management between 3rd and 4th year of medical school where he was a Rothschild Scholar in Health Services Management. He completed Dermatology Residency at University of Iowa where he was privileged to have taken care of many Iowan farmers and families to whom he owes his surgical skills.
Dr. Ting has been a prolific contributor to the field of dermatology and has won several dermatology research awards. He was very productive during his Dermatology Residency training at the University of Iowa as he was endowed the first ever Resident Research Award. He was the recipient and the Principal Investigator of the 2002-2003 Photobiology Award from The Skin Cancer Foundation which funded the research project â??Epidemiological Study of Tanning Bed Exposure and Associated Risk of Cutaneous Neoplasm.â? He was also recognized by the Richard B Stoughton fellowship from the British Association of Dermatologists for the best abstract submission from U.S. dermatology resident physicians in 2002.
He has authored numerous articles in major peer-reviewed dermatology journals and serves as a regional local thought leader in the field of dermatology as he continues to make frequent oral and poster presentations at local, national and international academic conferences. Currently serves on the Contra Costa County Volunteer Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society. He has volunteered many hours of his time doing pro bono skin cancer screening at Doctors Medical Center at San Pablo and at Hispanic Outreach programs at Concord in recent years. For his effort in public service, he was recently endowed Certificate of Appreciation by the American Cancer Society.
