523 S Camino Del Rio Durango, Colorado Dr. Mark Gaughan was trained in Dermatology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine under Dr. R. Steven Padilla and Dr. E. Ben Smith. He is trained in general dermatology, dermatologic surgery and laser surgery. Dr. Gaughan joined his father in practice at Durango Dermatology in 2001. Special interests include treatment of skin cancer, laser surgery, Mohs surgery and treatment of aging skin.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Gaughan was a helicopter pilot in the Army flying UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters at Ft. Bragg, NC. He also served in Operation Desert Storm as a medical evacuation pilot and later served as the flight surgeon for the New Mexico Army National Guard.
