Dr. Jeffrey S. Altman was born in California and raised in Northbrook, Illinois, and was always interested in being a physician and a dermatologist. He received his undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis earning his baccalaureate degree in biology. Dr. Altman was also extensively involved in research in skin biology in the Department of Dermatology at the Washington University Medical School. His medical training was at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois followed by an Internship at Northwestern, and a Dermatology Residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center. He has been certified by the American Board of Dermatology since December, 1994. Dr. Altman feels that he can bring a wealth of experience to his patients as he has done dermatology rotations at Mayo Clinic, Stanford University, Cook County Hospital and the University of Illinois, and is an Assistant Professor at Rush Medical College where he presents lectures on dermatological surgery.

Dr. Altman has authored nine articles in the medical literature field and given numerous lectures to local medical societies and community groups. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Chicago Dermatologic Society and the Noah Worcester Dermatologic Society. He is also past president of both the Illinois Dermatological Society and Chicago Dermatological Society. Dr. Altman is also a member of the Leaders Society of the Dermatology Foundation, which provides a leading source of funds for dermatological research.

Dr. Altman has three children and lives in the northwest Chicago suburbs where he practices. He likes to educate all his patients about their conditions and allow them to make the best decisions regarding their treatment. He specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery, laser surgery, chemical peels, and collagen injections.
