New Albany, Indiana Dr. Alfred L. Knable Jr., M.D. grew up in southern Indiana, graduating from New Albany High School and Purdue University prior to attending Indiana University Medical School. He completed specialized training in dermatology at Indiana University Medical Center and became board certified in dermatology in 1996. Thereafter he served four years in the United States Air Force before returning to Indiana.
His practice provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for diseases and conditions involving the skin, hair and nails for children and adults. He performs both essential and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. He is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Louisville Medical School. He is currently the Chair of the American Academy of Dermatology’s History Committee and a member of the Academy’s Judicial Panel.
