Dearborn, Michigan Dr. Karen L. Chapel completed her undergraduate studies, medical school training, internship in internal medicine, and dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society for high achievement in undergraduate school, and was also elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for graduating in the top 10% of her medical school class. She served as Chief Resident in her dermatology residency.
Dr. Chapel participated in the University of Michigan Melanoma clinic from 1996 – 1998, where she worked with a multidisciplinary group to establish treatment plans for over 200 patients with melanoma. She was an investigator in seven clinical trials for diseases including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, genital warts, and ichthyosis. She has given medical presentations locally and nationally, and published medical articles including the lead article in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, “Pediatric Dermatology: Advances in Therapy”. Her office is located at 2814 Monroe Street in Dearborn, Michigan at the corner of Outer Drive and Monroe Street.
