Holland, Michigan Dr. Dekkinga attended Calvin College and was trained at the University of Michigan. Postgraduate training included one year of internship at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, three years of Dermatology training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and six months of Fellowship training in Mohs skin cancer surgery at Henry Ford Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow in the American College of Mohs Microscopic Surgery.
Dr. Dekkinga belongs to the Kent County Medical Society, the Ottawa County Medical Society, Michigan State Medical Society, the American Medical Association, Michigan Dermatological Society, American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Chemosurgery.
He is a life-long resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan area where he enjoys being involved in church, school, and community projects. He also enjoys golf, bass fishing, family camping, and is a private pilot with instrument rating.
