In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Alexis teaches residents and medical students and conducts research protocols. His clinical and research interests include psoriasis, disorders of ethnic skin and hair and the epidemiology of skin disorders in different ethnic groups. Dr. Alexis holds a medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also received a Masters of Public Health for Columbia University School of Public Health. After completing a medical internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital, he went on to do a dermatology residency at Weill-Cornell Medical Center, where he received the Distinguished Housestaff Award, and a dermtopharmacology fellowship at New York University (NYU) Medical Center, NYU School of Medicine. Prior to joining SLR, Dr. Alexis served as a dermatology associate in a private practice in River Edge, New Jersey. He is a diplomate of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the Society for Investigative Dermatology and the Skin Cancer Foundation.
