125 Sunnynoll Ct Greensboro, North Carolina Dr. Barry Leshin received his AB from Duke University in 1977. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1981, and served as an intern in Internal Medicine at the Wake Forest University/Baptists Medical Center. From 1982-1985, Dr. Leshin was a resident in dermatology at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. He remained at Iowa for fellowship training in dermatologic surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery in 1985-1986. In July, 1986, Dr. Leshin joined the faculty of the Department of Dermatology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he is served as professor of dermatology and director of dermatologic surgery through December, 2000. In January,2001, Dr. Leshin opened his private practice at The Skin Surgery Center.
Dr. Leshin is a member of numerous specialty societies, has served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology (ACMMSCO), and as president of the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons. He is a fellowship training program director accredited by ACMMSCO and for Procedural Dermatology fellowship approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. He has contributed extensively as author and co-author of numerous articles in medical journals and textbook chapters, and regularly lectures in continuing medical education for practicing physicians.
