Breedlove, M.D. received most of his education through his undergraduate degree in the community of Stillwater, located in north central Oklahoma. His first two years of Dermatology Residency were at Lloyd Noland Foundation, Inc., in Fairfield, Alabama affiliated with University of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Breedlove then completed his last year of Residency at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Memphis, becoming Board certified in Dermatology in October, 1978, practiced from 1978 – 1981 in Chula Vista, California, and then returned to Oklahoma in October, 1981 to establish his clinic there. Dr. Breedlove has a special interest in skin cancer and in-office removal of skin growths with very minor paatient discomfort.
Dr. Breedlove is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology since 1978, and holds an active Medical staff appointment at Stillwater Medical Center since 1981. He established the Breedlove Medical Externship at Stillwater Medical Center in 1997. Each summer an area junior-to-be high school student is selected from a number of applicants to spend six weeks rotating through various medical disciplines, providing them with both a wonderful educational experience and generous stipend for their effort. Since 1999 Dr. Breedlove has been a member of the Admissions Board at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Oklahoma City.
Dr. Breedlove has been a high school/college athletic official in football and basketball since 1967. In order to give something back to his lifelong avocation he has established the Breedlove/Woodruff Sportspersonship Awards in 1990. These annual awards are given to the male and female senior athletes most deserving at Stillwater High School. In 1998, he was chosen as the Walter L. Honska Physician of the Year for volunteer work at Stillwater Community Health Clinic. He will also accept and/or make referrals from this clinic to his regular office to see patients who need more assistance than the twice weekly clinic can provide.
Dr. Breedlove is married and has three grown children.
