Portland, Oregon The American Board of Dermatology certified Janet L. Roberts, M.D. in 1979, following completion of her Dermatology training at Oregon Health Sciences University. Prior to that she attended college at Whittier College in Whittier, California, attending University of California at San Francisco for Medical School and interned at Virginia Mason Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle.
Since 1979, Dr. Roberts has been in the private practice of Dermatology in Portland, Oregon and maintains an active teaching position and faculty appointment in the Dermatology Department at Oregon Health Sciences University. There she developed and staffs a teaching clinic on hair related disorders for Dermatology residents.
Dr. Roberts is a Member of and was President in 1998 to the Oregon Dermatology Society, is a Member of the Society for Investigative Dermatology, Oregon Medical Association, Women’s Dermatology Society, Multnomah County Medical Society, North American Hair Research Society, Leaders Society – Dermatology Foundation, and the Oregon Menopause Information Network. She was Medical Advisor for the Oregon State Advisory Council for Electrologists, Tattoo Artists, Permanent Color Technicians & Body Piercers from 1991 – 1996. Dr. Roberts is also Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Oregon Health Sciences University from 1987 – present.
While maintaining an active interest in general Dermatology, Dr. Roberts has a specialized interest in the diagnosis and medical treatment of hair disorders, and does active clinical research in loss as well as clinical research in other dermatological conditions.
