Greensburg, Pennsylvania Dr. Regis W. McHugh graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978 with his M.D. degree. He then went to University of Pittsburgh Health Center for Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Neurology from 1978 – 1979. Dr. McHugh went into general practice in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania from 1979 – 1980. He returned to University of Pittsburgh to complete his residency in Internal Medicine in 1981, and his residency in Dermatology from Case Western Reserve University from 1981 – 1984, where he was Chief Resident in 1984. He next went to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons from 1993 – 1994 to receive a fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. McHugh was Board certified in 1984 from the American Board of Dermatology, and he became a Member of the Pittsburgh Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, the Westmoreland County Medical Society, and the American Academy of Dermatology in 1984; the Pennsylvania Medical Society in 1985; American Society for Dermatologic Surgery in 1989; and the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology in 1995. He is also a Fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.
Dr. McHugh has taught at the Latrobe Area Hospital in the Family Practice Residency Program from 1985 – present, at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1986 – 1999, and at Columbia University Residency Program in New York from 1993 – 1994. He has made presentations at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in December, 1983, on “Dilantin Hypertrophy of the Nose: A Case Report”, and at the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the May, 1995 Annual Meeting entitled “Visceral Invasion of Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans”. Dr. McHugh also has a published paper :
