3400 Civic Center Blvd Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Dr. Miller is the Director of Dermatological Surgery Practice and Education for the Department of Dermatology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
His clinical practice focuses on the use of Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery to treat patients with skin cancer.
Dr. Miller strives for excellence in all aspects of the medical care he offers to patients with skin cancer. In addition to providing highly specialized skills and knowledge to cure their skin cancers, he seeks to empower patients by educating them about their condition and by addressing their questions and fears. He works together with patients to devise treatment strategies that suit their individual needs.
Dr. Miller supplements his busy clinical practice with research concentrating on the clinical and epidemiologic aspects of skin cancer, including basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer, and malignant melanoma. For his recent research evaluating the role of acquired genetic mutations in the development of malignant melanoma, Dr. Miller was awarded the prestigious 2004 Everett C. Fox Award by the American Academy of Dermatology. He also continues to investigate his special interests in advanced techniques of Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery, dermatologic surgery education, and service excellence in the delivery of health care. Dr. Miller is a reviewer for Dermatologic Surgery and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
