Dr. Humpheys specializes in the treatment of skin cancer (including Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer and reconstruction), laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. She is the Director of Cutaneous Surgery and Director of the Jefferson Center for Lasers and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Cosmetic procedures offered include tumescent liposuction, laser skin resurfacing for wrinkles and acne scarring, chemical peels, collagen injection, soft form implants, sclerotherapy and laser treatment of leg veins.
Dr. Humphreys received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University (magna cum laude) and her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internship in internal medicine and residency in dermatology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to complete a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatologic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. After her tenure as Director of dermatologic surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, she was appointed in her current position as associate professor and Director of the surgery and laser programs at Thomas Jefferson University Department of Dermatology. Dr. Humphreys has been involved in medical education at all levels and has given numerous lectures on skin cancer to students, residents, and the community. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Society for Investigative Dermatology and Philadelphia Dermatologic Society.
Her academic endeavors include scientific presentations pertaining to skin cancer and laser surgery at the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and numerous publications in scientific journals pertaining to Mohs micrographic surgery, aesthetic reconstruction, cutaneous oncology, and laser surgery. She has recently published a chapter in a textbook devoted to cutaneous oncology. She has also served as a reviewer for such peer-reviewed journals as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, and Yearbook of Dermatology.
