Greenville, South Carolina Dr. Baker is a Board- Certified dermatologist who has had the pleasure of practicing dermatology since 1985. He is the author of a number of published articles and has presented material at many national and regional dermatology meetings. Prior to establishing his practice in Greenville, he served on the teaching faculty at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center. Additionally, he held academic appointments as Clinical Instructor and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
He is a fellow in several highly regarded professional associations including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. Locally, Dr. Baker has served as: Program Coordinator for Greenville’s Annual Melanoma / Skin Cancer Screening, Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Greenville Memorial Hospital, and Chief of the Division of Dermatology at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in 1957, Dr. Baker was Salutatorian of his high school class and graduated with honors from Ohio-Wesleyan University where he was Phi Beta Kappa and Summerfield Scholar. He attended the Medical College of Ohio as an Air Force Scholar. Upon graduation, he completed his internship and received additional training in Aerospace Medicine. He served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as Flight Surgeon for the 23rd Tactical Fighter Wing “Flying Tigers.” He completed his dermatology training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center. He received an honorable discharge from the Air Force, attaining the rank of Major.
