Ogden, Utah Dr. Willard Maughan began his college career at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. After two years he transferred to the University of Utah, where he graduated cum laude with a B.S. in molecular biology in 1968. He was elected to Phi Sigma Biology Honor Society. He graduated from the University of Utah College of Medicine in 1972 with honors in Medicine and OB-Gyn. He was also selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Following medical school he did a mixed medicine and surgery internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., finishing first in his class. He then spent three years as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Army assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, completing his assignment as a major. His residency training was from 1976 to 1979 at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.
Since 1979, he has been in the private practice of dermatology in Ogden, Utah. He also is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Utah.
