Lynchburg, Virginia Dr. Janet Hickman received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Michigan State University. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School in 1971. Subsequent training included internship and assistant residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University and three years of Dermatology residency at Duke University Medical Center. She has served as a civilian physician for the U.S. Army in Germany. Since 1979, she has been in private practice in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is also an Investigator and Medical Consultant for the Education & Research Foundation, a private clinical testing facility in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has served as the President of the Virginia Dermatological Society and is an active member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and North American Hair Research Society. Her research interests include dandruff, acne, fungal infections, and psoriasis; she has served as a clinical investigator for many clinical trials of new products in these fields.
