Dr. Gharia is a native of Wisconsin, having been raised in Racine, WI and attending the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee for undergraduate training. He continued with medical school and residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Gharia is fellowship trained in Mohs micrographic surgery, having completed a fellowship with Dr. Richard Bennett at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Gharia was formerly the director of dermatologic surgery at the University of Wisconsin, Department of Dermatology and continues to teach as an assistant clinical professor at both the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin. He is an attending physician at the Great Lakes VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI, where he teaches at the dermatologic surgery clinic every thursday morning. His areas of interest are general medical dermatology and dermatologic surgery with an emphasis on Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery.
